Total Crop Loss in Pakistan from the flood has been estimated at Rs. 244.639 billion (US$ 2.8 nillion) by the Ministry for Food and Agriculture, says a document of the Ministry, completed on August 23. Major losses come from rice paddy, which suffered a damage of Rs. 56.386 billion causing a loss 1.597 million tons. Now rice crop is estimated at 4.352 million tons.
